A Full House --- and a small request?

On Wednesday evening, lots of different projects being worked on, and some finishes too.

Some of the bells from the last project evening

And a few wreaths from this months project day , completed and some nearly there!
Carol has added Dorset Buttons
Christine has used a single colour background

Beverley's ready to add the backing
And "the Season" has taken it's grip with this lovely panel made by Beverley at a Gail Lawther workshop last Sunday

Our newest member, Marjorie,  was working on a block for her seasons quilt. This is from a Shirley Bloomfield pattern.

This is needle-turned appliqué, using a vilene overlay to get the correct placement of the pieces.
Louise has an I Spy quilt to finish within two weeks!

Remember that plastic fabric that Susan was working on? Well she is making these lovely cosmetic purses as gifts.

Rosemary is adding beads to a smocked piece
photo taken before the un picking!

Linda, having finished her bells, has started work on this pretty stuffed heart
She has planned lots of stitching on this

Beverley has also been making diary covers to send to the other side of the world for Christmas gifts
Christine has finished her table centre

ready for a festive table
Bernice was working on her block for a group quilt for another group that she belongs to.

And so to the request......

 Brrrrr!
The weather is getting colder and as this is the season of Goodwill

I will be bringing a box to group each session that we can hopefully add some items to send on to the Sanctuary in Rushden.

This was a notice that I read from the Sanctuary..........

I'm a Bit Speechless

I was noticeable by my absence at group this week, but family comes first (usually!!)

We had our All Day and this month and Shirley and Ena have come up trumps again with this lovely Prairie Point Christmas Wreath.

The ladies had done lots of prep work prior to the day and so could crack on with the project.

I will just leave you to view the pictures

Prairie Points in progress

Good to see Jackie back - she wasn't doing the project but she had a coffee and a nice chat

It looks like there is another style of wreath being made in the room too!

Mrs Beal brought in cakes as a

I personally would like to add my thanks to all you lovely ladies who always come up trumps when asked to join in on things.

Including those that have knit or crochet green squares for the

They are constructing a 10Ft Knitted Christmas tree!!
After it has been displayed, the squares will be sewn together into blankets and given to the homeless community

Its Taking Over!!!

Knitting that is.   All around the room, the ladies needles are clicking away. There is some lovely yarn about, and Gill (ex Knit & Sew) keeps bringing more for us to try and resist.   Which we don't!

I'm not sure if the popularity of knitting and crochet is because items need to be completed before the big C day, or whether its because the ladies can knit and talk at the same time!! The latter I am thinking!!

Anyway, I heard it here folks, Angie will have two socks completed by Christmas (and they will be the first and last pair she makes!)
Colleen's embroidery is coming on. this may be slow, but the work is exsquisit!
You may remember that Brenda was working on some alphabet blocks for a baby quilt?  Well said baby is due in 10 days and the binding is being sewn down so she still has time to spare!  Its a lovely piece.

Mrs Beal decided last week, that she will join in with the Wreath making on our next all day, and is preparing lots of Flying Geese for the project.

Janis is chopping up clothing ready to make a quilt.

And Linda had forgotten to bring her finished stuffed bell, so we will see that another day, and she has already started on her next project.

Remember Phoebe's Paper Pieced snow folk?  Well she has made great progress and is confident that she will have the quilt completed by Christmas

Bridget must have taken a pill because her Gold Work piece is progressing rapidly! ( Not her usual pace!)

Maria was not at group when we did our Mini day, but has the pattern and is cracking on with this Shoo Fly.

Elaine is hand stitching her appliqué blocks
And Jo is also hand stitching these cute bears for an baby quilt.

Jan was happy to have finished a set of bunting for a friend's space.

Eileen will have the BIGGEST bow on her wreath next week!!

Carolynne is on a production line, making these lovely felt hearts for her church Christmas Fete
Chris is working down the box of donated fabric and is piecing these novelty squares to make a Linus Quilt

And we had four of the Mini Mania Challenge groups quilts on display. Their theme for October was Appliqué, October and Orange. How different can you get?

I hear that their November piece will be a Churn Dash - so they should all turn out similar?  We shall see!
