What happened to Summer??

Because it's been blummin cold and wet and windy here. This is supposed to be the first day of summer!!

But its great weather for sewing and the ladies have been very busy as usual.

Sue is making a quilt for her grand-daughter and it's a mixture of pieced and appliquéd blocks
sewing some of the squares
to be added to the appliqué
Kim is busy working on an Irish Chain quilt, but she has finished this very cute duck cushion
Sue is also making some owl appliqué tote bags for our sales table in September
lovely owls
Eileen is working another quilt, a mix of techniques again. She really likes the hand sewing.

more appliqué
Carole has put together a couple of cushions, again for our sales table.

Ellen is tacking the frame into this rather nice purse
And Toni is EPP'ing some hexagons. She hasn't decided what this will become but it is an easy project that she can work on whilst caring for a family member.
Great 30's prints
Muriel has excelled herself with her Wonky Log Cabin project
love the way the yellow weaves through
At the same time as she is working on her Foundation Pieced blocks. One more to go and she is ready to put them all together

Mrs Beal has been working on small items for our sales table and has had them "marked" by someone she loves.
a bit "Naf"
Very acceptable
Her DIL has crocheted another lovely blanket for Project Linus. She is not able to attend our group - she lives quite a way away, but I am lead to believe that she follows our little blog.

this is lovely and soft. I wish I could hook as nicely.
Thank you so much for your contributions.

We have quite a few finishes from May's All Day project ( a "Hussuff" or Housewife ) that Janis taught.

I have got a bit mixed up as to which one is who's  but I think that this is Carole's
She has used a variegated thread
Angie is working on her sample
and the inside of Carole's

June has machine embroidered one and has added First Aid items to hers
I think the pink one is Ena's and the green one, Muriels
Jo has gone travelling but had left her piece for us to see
she has added a clear pocket to hers
I missed this session, but am definitely going to have to have a go at this.

Three of our ladies have been challenging themselves to make a mini quilt each month. One of them sets the guidelines at the beginning of the month and then they "show and tell" at the and of the month.
May's Mini comprised of three colours and a background fabric made into half square triangles then arranged "as you please"

Each of these little quilts have the same components but just look at how different each one has turned out!

If you would like to join in June's "Mini Mania" pop over here for the instructions and have it ready to show at the end of the month.  You can join in any-time and can miss a month if things are too busy.

Don't forget to book your place on our coach to the Malvern Autumn show - we only have a small coach so places will fill quickly.

And more importantly ------
Don't forget that we need a volunteer (or you can join forces with a friend) from BOTH Monday and Wednesday ladies, to organise the programme for 2016.

You know I won't give in till you do!!!
