Great Weekend

With 250+ visitors to Brenda's Open Garden on Sunday who took the time to view our little display of WW1 Challenge pieces blogged about here and here it was well worth the effort of getting them altogether again.

Unfortunately, both Carol and myself forgot to take a photo of the summerhouse with the display in situ, so you will just have to use your imagination!!

The Higham Secret Gardens event went very well, the aim is to raise the funds to add a disabled toilet facility to the college gardens. I think they will have managed that!

Lots of cream teas served in a delightful setting  and we were lucky enough to blag some of the left over cakes for elevenses today - Win Win

And so to today's meeting ....
Lynda is completing the last panel of a candlewick rabbit that she is making with a group of friends. Well she was supposed to be, but she DID road-test her new "quick unpick"
decided to use a finer thread!
But she did have a rather nice pincushion with her ...
to redeem herself

Jo has completely lost her marbles and is paper foundation piecing TINY squares with hearts and Sunbonnet Sue's for a swap she is taking part in. The final piece will measure 10" Square! I think the blocks are one and a half inches.
soooo tiny!!

look at the hands!!

 M.A.D.  ( but really lovely)

Sue was making owls
just button eyes needed
And she has just about finished the blocks on her quilt that is based on the
Baptistery window at Coventry Cathedral. This quilt was designed be Helen Spence and Sue did her workshop locally.

The window that inspired the quilt

Carole is working on a Trapunto piece for her City and Guilds course
she will be glad to get this done
More tiny work going on with Alison making 1/4" hexagons
see the size?
Angie was adding a bit of lace to a laptop sleeve that she has made

Sue was stitching down some appliqué

And Kay has another page of her "Quiet Book" nearly finished

Ena and her Red Hat Lady  are almost at an end - she is beautiful
just the last piece of dress to sew
Bridget is making a Carry All sewing bag to bring in her projects to group
Val - Well Val was mostly breaking needles today - but it was good to see her after what has been an  awful few weeks for her.

And she enjoyed her lunch!
Lesley was trying to get this smocked dress finished
nearly there
Pam has moved from hexagons to Diamonds
Paper piecing very popular at the moment

Ellen and Glenys were making some more of the "hand bag" needle cases

mass production here
Glenys' first attempt

Shirley was quilting a Red Work quilt for a grandchild
Lots of Teddy images

There is an alteration to the October All Day project. Pop over to our Diary page to see some samples. Maybe earmark an item for a Christmas gift?
