Oh No! Sorry!!  That should have read Humpty!!


Carol brought this lovely chap in to show us. She found a very old pattern that she had made for her sons. Well, he did fall down and was very worn out, so she re-made the pattern for her Grandchildren. He has gone down very well!

 Lesley was tracing out the applique pieces for a new Block Of The Month. This will be for her Grand-Daughter. These are such fun patterns to work from

Lynda had brought her next smocked dress in for a bit of advice from Jo

Mrs Beal (with the help from help YOP Pauline) has now completed her Grandsons new quilt.

And yes.... You have seen it here.....  Chris has completed a quilt!!!!! 

 It is beautifully made, I love that scalloped edge, and try as I might, I can't make fun of her over this one!  Well done Chris!


Elaine has been on a residential course at Knuston Hall with our friend Penny Mackenzie.  She made this lovely project bag

 Pockets on all sides and she has used Bosal wadding which is a firm bonded product that gives a solid structure to the bag.

 Knuston Hall is a lovely (if a bit tired) facility.  Set in beautiful surroundings, and the food..... Excellent!  You can book onto one of their many courses, or even just hire some space to have your own retreat.

 And so to our next community project.......

Ellen, Ena, Glenys and Maureen met with someone who is making up "Memory Boxes" to be given to babies that are being looked after at Kettering Hospitals Special Care Baby Unit.

The boxes will contain

Incubator Size Quilt
Bonding Squares (one is tucked under mums clothes and one with baby and then swapped so that they can "bond" even though they are not able to have much physical contact ) - Knit or crochet 
A comfort huggy - These can be knit, crochet or velvety fabric
Premie hat - knit or crochet
Picture frame
Book so that they can read to baby
Baby toiletries
A little treat for Mum - some nice hand cream or the like

 If any of our members feel they would like to donate some of their time to help with this project, we would be most appreciative. 

The Hospital have indicated that they have 400 babies go through their care in a year!!!


 If you make a quilt top, Janie Rowthorn has offered to Long Arm Quilt it and then return for binding. She can quilt several quilts at the same time on her big big big machine.

I have suggested to some of the committee that we might also help out with the purchase of backing fabric for these quilts. Please let me know if you have any objections.


 I will source some patterns and pop them or the links on our Tutorials page  and I will print some off and put on our Library trolley.

 You don't need to tackle all of the items, if you just want to knit or crochet the hats, then that would be great. 


I will leave a box at Group for you to pop your things in and we will get them over to the organizing group on a monthly basis.
