2014 Round up

we have had a few busy meetings since the last post (sorry - been a bit busy!) but the ladies have been productive as usual.

There has been work continuing after the workshop on Splendid Stitches, Bernice has been embellishing her piece
And Brenda has made a bag with hers, and added her Dorset Buttons for an extra bit of Tra -La!
Bridget has got completely carried away with her piece - and now what to do with it?
Elizabeth and Maureen are busy making a purse each
And I will leave you to guess what this is going to be....
Louise is quilting a very colourful piece
Some appliqué letters being added to a project
And Ena is teaching Lynda how to add beads to her smocked bauble
And she can't be a bad teacher - look at the results!
Mind your job Jo!
We had a lovely candle-wick embroidery project
And Lynda is making some Clock Blocks for gifts
time on her hands!
Sue is working on a Christmas wallhanging
And Barbara is working a pretty cross stitch picture
This is a pretty needle case, I think that is going to be a gift
And we had some frantic knitting needed to be finished
 More Christmas items here
and some smocking that will end up covering a coat hanger
June has made this lovely snowman, she has sent me a picture with his face added - but that seems to have melted into the ether....
lovely and squidgy
 Found it!!!

doesn't he look smart?

Ellen - her of the busy busy busy - has been given a last minute task of making some bedding for this cute dolls pram. Must be finished by Christmas Eve!!  Needless to say, she got it done.
Muriel had completed a dress for her Grand Daughter
A Christmas place mat
And a folded Christmas Tree
And then there was the party!!
Flies round a honey pot!

 Though the spread was delicious
We also had a Secret Santa and our usual C**p raffle.
The raffle raised money for the local homeless shelter. We actually sent them £100 . They do so much good, and it is the Season of Goodwill to All men

And last - but most certainly least - Carol was ready to show off her FABULOUS crochet wreath complete with a crochet robin. Is it Great!  And so Colourful  you can read more about it here

And then there is the Challenge!

Your Challenge this year ---
Take an artist of your choice and recreate, in any fabric method of your choice, one of their (recognisable) paintings. The size of your piece is to fit into the frame provided (with or without the mount). You will need to stretch your work and string or tape it at the back so that it lays flat in the frame.  You then have the choice to keep your piece, or they can be put on sale at our next exhibition.
All will be exhibited.

The ladies were also given a piece of fabric as a gift  (NO - not a sweetener!!)

There was a couple of people on holiday - but never fear - we have the Challenge saved for you...
The ladies have till the end of March to complete their task
We will see what March has to bring.....
