First Meet of the Year!

Happy New Year to All!

Group was somewhat quiet this afternoon. Maybe lots of members have had this awful Flu bug thing over the Festive Period (I did and am only just shifting it!). But the important people turned up.....

Shirley is quilting a cute book panel before she puts it together for that handsome (great?) nephew.
a sweet story

This is Pat's Sun Bonnet Sue Through The Year quilt, that is being quilted, slowly but surely

all the months are covered

Sometimes we take just too much on over Christmas, but Carol was determined to complete her Santa table centre before he is put away for the year

just his nose to go
June brought in a 'bought' note book with a rather nice patchwork cover which looks simple enough to do. Maybe a little workshop later in the year?
from Paperchase

Therese is crazy patching a cover for her Kindle

she does love denim
And Sheila tells me that this sewing caddy is ages old, but I have not seen it before. It holds all of her bits and bobs very neatly, with some cute Matryoshka dolls to keep their eye on things.

Lynda has nearly finished the little stuffed hearts that will be sewn to a wreath ring for her bedroom wall
I think she should have added lavender to the filling, don't you?
And remember this little lady? We have seen her in her many stages over the past 12 months, but she is now finished and ready to hang on Alison's wall.

Stump-work - I wish it was called something else!!
Annette did bring something to sew, but was determined NOT to pick up her needle.

But Miss Goody Two Shoes Ellen, who has been knitting hats for Terry's Chocolate Oranges for NEXT Christmas!!

Also sat this afternoon and made 11 (yes ELEVEN!) pairs of shorts for the
Dress a Child  Charity.
Remember she had an Audience with the Bishop of Peterborough just before Christmas? He wanted to thank her for her contributions. Well she now has a head start on this years target, so we may see her at Buck House before the end of the year?? !! They are so simple to make, if you want to help out, just ask for a copy of the pattern or you can download it from here

Its a great way to help those less fortunate and clear out lots of bits of fabric . I made some using larger "scraps" and I didn't have enough to make a whole pair from one fabric so I used four different fabrics in each pair. They looked great and very colourful!

Don't forget ladies, that our "All Day" project on the 19th Jan will be "postcards"  so collect your bits and bobs ready for that.
