Wednesday Round Up

 There was more prep work ready for our Linus Night in February

 Ena was using a pretty panel

 And Maureen was piecing some shirting fabrics.

 Last year we handed over 176 Linus quilts. I wonder if we will beat that target this year?


 Meanwhile Gill was finishing off this cute fabric doll

 Jackie was stuffing her Giraffe soft toy

 This picture does Linda's cushion cover no jsutice at all.

 She has used metallic threads to free motion around the motifs and is adding seed stitch and colonial knots to highlight the images.
 


 Lynda was making a crazy patch card

 Rosemary is getting on well with her RedWork cushion piece.

 Just a reminder that we will me making (any size you wish) Linus Quilts on the week commencing
20th February.

Annual General Meeting ...... and some PATCHWORK!!!

 Mrs Beal had brought in a lovely zipper bag with a hand knit pair of socks that her DDIL had gifted her at Christmas.

 And more crazy from our new member Christine, who was sewing the binding down on this cozy quilt

all hand pieced and then long arm quilted

 Maureen was doing a test run for our Linus Day,  using those shirt sleeves.

 A couple of people were working on their Secret project - It seems that colouring the sections means less mistakes!!  😜

Barbara was stitching some canvas. This will become a scissor keeper - hopefully

 We have seen Kathy's EPP project in various stages but she was happy to be showing off these completed cushions.

 Kay is hand quilting a colourful transport panel

 Val is hand stitching these Hexi flowers down onto what will become a cushion for a grand daughter

Barbara was rather concerned that as she now had enough hand pieced blocks made up, she will now HAVE to make another quilt  😳

 Elaine (of the Crazy Waistcoat) has begun a Spring Applique project

Debbie is stil going strong on her scrappy hexagon project

and MORE head start work on Linus quilts

 Angie has used this pretty Broderie Anglaise to make a crib quilt for a forthcoming grandchild

 Just a sneaky peak of Pauline's lovely flower quilt, that is being hand quilted and I will show it in all its glory quite soon I think

The AGM was as quick as normal - Lynda won the "book" at 13 minutes. Why waste time talking when you can be sewing??? 😝😏

Eeerrrm - Happy New Year !!!

 Yes - I know I know! I haven't posted in ages. Now going through the photos I can't remember who was doing what and when.

Anyway, during Christmas week we had a small meeting where there was lots of panic knitting being completed and maybe just a bit of sewing.
 But a lot of chatting.
A relaxed day that we all appreciated in the manic run up to Christmas.

And my car boot was filled with our donations to be delivered to the local Food Bank/Homeless shelter

 The Shelter organisers were thrilled with our donation.

So a BIG Thank You for your generosity ladies

overflowing with kindness

 And so we begin a New Year where hopefully we will see more sewing projects, rather than knitting at our Patchwork & Quilting group

 This week saw our Monday All Day session and Elaine was working on this very pretty bag to carry her cutting boards

Carole was working on a secret project. Can you guess what this might be?
                                       

 Sue was sewing down some Hexi flowers - I think these were Liberty Lawns

 A new lady, Christine, was busy sewing squares together, and I will find out what the finished item will be next week.

 Bridget did not want to be included in this photo!  We have seen this cute dog quilt in progress and I think there is only a border to add before she begins quilting

 A group of ladies wanted to get each other through support each other making these lovely beaded scissor keepers.

 Ellen and Maureen were sorting some squares that were cut from the shirt sleeves left over from this donation
 

These will make some great Linus quilts. So if you have any spare minutes to sew some together during the next month , have a chat with Ellen and we can get a head start on our Project Linus day in February.
